The Peugeot 308 is a compact family car that was first released by French manufacturer Peugeot in the year 2007. It was the first model of Peugeot's X08 range to become available in the market. It was originally designed to replace the Peugeot 307. The chassis design was the same as that of the 307, but several improvements were made to the body shape and engine design to increase its fuel efficiency. There were also changes made to the car's interior design, making it more stylish, attractive and modern looking. The first model that was released in 2007 featured a choice of different petrol and diesel options. As a result of the modifications made, it also had a lower drag coefficient, making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars on the market at the time. As a result of being supplied with hybrid diesel technology by Bosch in 2007, the fuel economy of the 308 was drastically increased. In 2011, Peugeot 308 cars were given a facelift. The new and improved version was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of the year. The changes made included a slight change to the design of the exterior, and a brand new front-end design. The revised model also boasted an even lower drag factor, thus making it more fuel efficient than before. In 2011, Peugeot also launched the 308 e-HDI micro-hybrid model. This model went on to break the Guinness World Record for fuel efficiency in the 'Around Britain Lowest Fuel Consumption Drive'. For this reason both nearly new and secondhand Peugeot 308 cars are popular with customers who are looking for a family car that is both fuel efficient and reliable.
