It serves as a sturdy base for a custom tray or specialised conversions, from tippers to refrigerated trucks. Power comes from a 2.0 TDI Euro 6.2 diesel engine with 110PS or 150PS, with the 150PS engine paired to a 7-speed DSG.
All versions include Front Assist with autonomous emergency braking, cruise control, hill start assist and composition audio radio with Bluetooth. Drive
The 2.0 TDI Euro 6.2 diesel engine is a tried and proven unit, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox in 110PS guise or a 7-speed DSG in 150PS guise. Both variants get start-stop technology, returning 33.7mpg and 31.4mpg combined (WLTP).
Practicality
The Transporter 6.1 Chassis Cab is 5,500mm in length with a height of 1,948mm, making it perfect for urban spaces. It’s a great base for custom bodies, from box vans to tippers. The possibilities are endless with clever engineering.
Living with it
With a short turning circle, fuel economy up to 33.7mpg combined (2.0 T30 TDI LWB) and a max gross weight of 3,000kg, the Chassis Cab is easy to drive and cheap to run. It will tow a braked trailer up to 2,200kg or 750kg unbraked.
